Young dancers are introduced to basic ballet in a comprehensive program building toward the Pre-Professional division. Coordination, musicality, rhythmics, French terminology, ballet class etiquette and class sequencing are taught with a very small teacher-student ratio from an age-appropriate syllabus.
Trainee classes are available for children ages 5 through 9 without audition.
Trainee Level One begins with one hour of ballet and one hour of music per week.
Trainee Level Two and Three range from 2-4 hours of ballet per week, with one hour of optional Music and one hour of optional Jazz.
All learning is based on some form of movement, whether it is the blinking of an eye, or a large muscle gesture. The music class recognizes and establishes a connection in the dancers with their own core body rhythm. Internalizing this rhythm is the foundation for movement and movement is the foundation for all dance forms.
Music is included for the Trainee One program, and is optional but encouraged for levels Two and Three.
Optional for Trainee Two and Three, Jazz takes the rhythm and movement into another direction in an action-packed hour of fun and dance.
