Pre-Professional Program

Pre-Professional Students at MBTMetropolitan Ballet Theatre focuses on the individual needs of each dancers as it conducts pre-professional classes for students ages 10 through 21 in ballet, pointe, jazz, and modern dance. Students 10 years and older must audition.

Scheduled classes run from August through May, and open classes and summer workshops are available in the June and July.

All Pre-professional students take class in ballet technique, pointe, jazz and modern. Class time ranges from 6.5 – 11.5 hours per week, depending on level. Performance opportunities are available and encouraged throughout the year and require extra rehearsal time, from 4 to 8 hours per week.

Pre-Professional Conservatory Program

For dedicated dance students who are enrolled in alternative school programs (home school, online school, other alternative schools), Metropolitan Ballet Theatre offers additional training during the day through our Conservatory Program. This program offers 19 hours of dance classes per week and a school room with WiFi Internet access, for afternoon study time.
