MBT presents two full-length productions annually including the holiday classic, “The Nutcracker” and one additional program of repertory pieces. Also, Metropolitan Ballet Theatre serves the metro Atlanta community by offering various outreach performances throughout the year. Each performance is a unique opportunity for young people to grow personally and artistically.
The performance experience is an integral part of training a young dancer. Each dancer at Metropolitan Ballet Theatre is guided through the preparation process for performing, starting with the very first rehearsals in the studio to the long awaited opening performance on stage, with professional coaching which focuses on both the technical and artistic elements of performing.
December 19-21, 2014 at Blessed Trinity High School Theater
The Nutcracker. Beautiful sets, elaborate costumes, and the talented dancers of Metropolitan Ballet Theatre combine to create the holiday magic where a young girl’s cherished gift of a nutcracker comes to life as a handsome prince and whisks her away, through the land of snow – with dancing snowflakes and a lovely Snow Queen and King – on a journey to his home, the Land of Sweets where she is introduced to the Sugar Plum Fairy. It’s a beloved holiday tradition.
Special tickets will be available for our Land of Sweets Party on Saturday, December 20 at 2:00 pm, in combination with the matinee performance. And on Sunday your little ballerina can dance with the stars of the show in our Tutus at Two mini-class held at 12:30 before the 2:00 matinee performance.
