Music Classes at MBT

It is with great pleasure we introduce Julia Distelhurst HPMT, MT-BC, the founding director of Under Musical Construction, Inc. a Music Therapy agency with music programs that are themed based and developmentally appropriate for the young learner. Georgia Pacific, Spellman College, Capital Hill, Atlanta Ballet, and others have been among the centers who have partnered with Ms. Distelhurst. She holds trademark registrations for curriculum she authored using music as the therapeutic tool for acquisition of pre-cursor skills for language development in babies. Recently returning to Atlanta, after serving as the Program Director for The Center for Creative Therapeutic Arts in Las Vegas, we are proud to add her to our MBT faculty.

“Simply Music” – Offered Mondays from 5:00 – 5:45 pm for ages 6 to 10, is designed specifically to address rhythmic internalization so vital to the young dancer in preparation for understanding musicality and learning choreography. These classes will be theme-based and funfilled while establishing core body response to rhythm and impulse control. Each class includes music, movement, instrument playing, and FUN!
